In my opinion, there was no good choice.. atleast with the 4 biggest parties....

liberals have fucked us, and plan to spend way too much money... now their leaderless... who somehow convinced the runner-up of the conservative leadership race to switch sides on the floor... god damn business people... makin deals on just a handshake. (that was a stab at the sponsorship scandal btw)

conservatives are going to fuck us, because they plan to cut the gst - which means less money to spend in the first place... and we'll be rolling back a few of hte new legislations... which were monumental for the government to take (starting to sound like the leafs vs sens game on monday)

bloc - well.. they are french.... and they pretty much can be summed up by saying "they only care about quebec"

ndp say they can't run the country, they'd rather have harper do it, and support him.. which is a load of shit, cause they said that about the liberals at the last election

I guess he only guy I have respect for is the french bastard that won as an independent north of quebec city... apparently he is outspoken... which I kinda got from a little interview with him which stated "I can work with the devil if the matter is to bring forward what those people need and make it so they get the respect they need," - see, no fucking party to follow, nothing like that - just one man, representing the people of his riding, like he should... damn I wish independents were more active and more respected in the canadian political system.

so thats my opionion.... "Get Fucked, 2006"... only another 18 months before we vote again.

Well, its the end of the summer... well a little past... and now that im back in school I think maybe I might reflect on my summer

Alot has happened in the summer.... a close college friends mom past away, my cousin got married, I moved to a new apartment. Started looking for a car... became empowered that I can do alot on a car.... and you know.. if started to get back into the swing of things when it comes to girls... although no luck yet (Yes sara, that may mean my default mood has a new default haha :)).1

So the job is going good, in the past few weeks i've been doing more coding, its starting to get better as now im getting experience in what I want to do for the rest of my life. even though I do not care for my boss due to his lack of any shred of personality, knowledge and any other human quality.

Work has been cramping my style when it comes to computers though, over the past 4 months I've been playing alot of pool with the pre-mention college friend whose mom past away. a few beers and a few games of pool has been a great way to vent. and my pool game has become alot better :)

As for the girl front... well... met this one girl from staples... that turned into a total disaster when she tried to act smart(er than me about computers) so that quickly ended that. Also have been to res a couple of times to have this one annoying girl hang off me whenever I am there.. hopefully what I talked to her about on saturday has fixed that. But the more promising lead is that one of the girls that was in res when I was that I kinda had a thing for (even spent a night in her room ;) ) is back in the single world. Haven't talked to her too much, but hopefully that might work out :)

School has been going well now... took me a week to get back into the swing of things but im doing well, and I hope that i can keep my average above 3.5. for insurance and personal reasons. I may need to borrow money from somewhere to finish school without working. Some may say that is... well... stupid that I don't want to work when im in school.... those who know me should know why I don't work during school.

its only 7 months till the bitter-sweet day that I finish college. sweet because, Ill be done, have a nice sheet of paper with my name on it. bitter, because over the past 2 years, i've met some really cool people. and I fear, just like high school, that I will only talk to a few of these people.... although I don't regret not talking to a few select individuals from high school for reasons that shall not be mentioned lol

» What a weekend

thrusday night is when I started drinking... went with my room mate downtown to the brass, and the peel... at the peel it was packed with people our age... and my room mate got checkout envy... I was being checked out by some blonde... but whatever... she didn't look that hot.

so my weekend started about 5:30 pm friday... with me deciding that I would go to my co-workers party this weekend. so after getting my beer and extra clothing for the weekdn all packed, I headed up to delta for a weekend of drinking, and fair rides.

so friday night we ended up drinking, and drinking and even more drinking... nothing really eventful other than teh drinking, me passing out in my car, and then my car being broken into to get me to party some more.....

saturday started at 8 am, with a beer, and then anohter beer... until about 11 when the chip wagon down the street opened up... greasy food is the greatest.. then there were these girls... about 17... and the one was preoccupied with everyone elses problesm rather than her own... and her friend that wanted to go to the fair, even though girl number 1 has to go home to babysit or some shit like that..... it was an hour of constant arguement between them 2 girls, but they left mid afternoon. so then we got the idea to go over to the fair and do some rides

I had to get some money, so I headed to the grocery store in delta, and these girls were in line ahead of me asking how much admission was... being that I was right beside the fair I knew it was $7... cept they were asking about charleston lake park... but there was an 18 y/o in the group. so as I am walking out, the other 2 girls ask me if I was going to the fair.. I said yes, and then they asked if I wanted to take the younger one with me, I was like sure, hop in... problem was she didn't want to go to the fair.. too bad for her, she woulda gotten the fair and a whole lot more ;)

so its the normal fair, with the boat, ferris wheel and a few others... including this spinning monkey thing... they used to be strawberries, but whatever... there was 6 of us, and we asked the carny if we could all fit into one... I think the max was 4, but we somehow fit in. we got the thing spinning so fast that people were amazed, so the carny let is keep going..... we could hardly reach the wheel to get it going faster since we were getting glued to the walls..

and then here comes the fun part... during this second round, one of the guys at the door is vomiting, as we are going around... then as we are about to get out, my co-work is hanging out the door, and the carny knew what was about to happen, asked if he could hold it in for another minute but ended up vomitting all over the ride..

there was food too, and some more fair rides later on at night, but there wasn't anything eventful.. I passed out about midnight... and then thise morning I left about noon.... I've been trying to recover ever since.... I've got a bad sunburn on my nose and my left hand... from my glove tan last week... I'd take pictures but it seems my camera is still in the car.

» Last night was fun

alright.. last night was fun.. but ill get int that in a few minutes.

Tuesday morning I had a little trouble getting into my car... the driver side door wouldn't open.. and seeing that there is rust at the bottom of the door, I was just like whatev, its probably just because the car is so damn old. Well.. when I got home from work, I decided to take a closer look, and was I pissed off. <a href="http://staniel.dyndns.org:8080/~dan/Car/> MY CAR WAS POTENTIALLY BROKEN INTO!"</a> nothing was taken.. but I have a few possibly far fetched theories on who woulda wanted to steal my car. never-the-less, I still have my car, thought I have to be very careful with the driver side door... I only expect to drive that for about 12 months, then I am going to need a newer car.

and the rest of my week was pretty good... including last night...

around 2, one of my class mates (Mark) messaged me and asked if I wanted to go look at some pool cues and then head on over to raxx around 3. I said sure seeing that I had nothing else planed for last night anyway. he picked me up and then we had to head down to one of his friends place. his friend had to wait for a bit for a reason I am still not sure of, but anyway, we eneded up going to the billiards store around 4.

So we look at cues, balls, poker sets... all that fun stuff... then we decided that 4 guys could finish a 26er on the walk from his place to raxx... we all bought a litre of orange juice or coke, went back to get the 26er... each of us got a 1/4 of it in our drinks, and then decided to walk in the hot sun for about 30 minutes..

Along the way, we found a laser level thing, so one of the guys snatched it and hide it so that we could pick it up later.

When we got to raxx, we were all hungry, and kinda drunk.. who'da thought that drinking in the hot sun would make drinking so much worse. so we bugged the girl working hte bar, about what kinda beer they had, and sayign that molson canadian is now false advertising...

then we started playing pool... I kinda did better this time... and we started hitting on the waitress whenever she came by,,, seeing that me and my classmate are almost regulars now, they pretty much know what we want... around 8 we had to go get some girl who lived down teh street.. so me and mark decided we would run/walk there... we had a few beers in us, and it was god damn hot out.. we got there, and I almost took a dive in her pool.. fully clothed and everything.

we ended up getting a ride from one of her relatives back to raxx.. and thank god cause it was so damn hot. we played some more pool.. me and this girl were having drinking contests.... see who could finish their drink (me with a beer, her with a double rye and coke) we pretty much finished at the same time. There was also a wedding party there for a bit, and the came around trying to sell candy... and then they sweetened the deal... you'd get a kiss from the bride if you bought some... I was like "I have no money" which I thought was true, so I looked in my wallet, and found a 5... so I was like cool.. candy.. a kiss... WOO!

after that, it was like 9:45, so we were like, lets go get some beer from teh beer store.. we ran over there, got our beer, then went back to marks place.. I really had to take a piss, and because there was someone in the bathroom and went beside his garage... and found a mattress... so we all decided to flip down the mattress and sit on it... so now, im on the matress, sitting beside this girl.. and I had given her my shirt cause she was in a speghetti strap shirt thing? because the garage wall was cold. so then she puts her arm around me.. and the crazy thing is mark and her are getting along really welll.. but yeah.. it was like... ummm wtf do I do... so we kinda just started flirting back and forth.. harmless and what not.. drank some more beer... then the other guys left... and me nad her talked... she said that mark ment alot to her and blah blah blah.. and cause I know mark. I was like year, I know... its just harmless fun... I know this ain't going anywhere.. so that was cool, but atleast I didn't get slapped!... I then decided to ask if she had friends - she laughed cause she knew I was kinda joking

so no sex for me last night...

and now, time for a swim, cause there is a hot girl sunbathing out there.

time for another update

I no longer work for multilaser anymore, it is now printfleet inc... just in case anyone is wondering... as for printfleet inc now, we are about to release a windows version of our monitoring software... that comes out monday... and a little of my work is in there..

last week the accountant found a way that the government wont take taxes out of my paycheque, I declined since I plan to use my tax return to go out west in may or something, for a couple weeks. I really want to go back out there, and I hope I do get the chance to.

im starting to find that im a little more socialable with the ladies now... I don't know what it is.. and I don't think it was the wedding, cause, im freaking scared of long term commitments, that may hurt :(

last weekend I had tofix my car.. the radiator fan motor was seized up, so it was causing my car to run a little hotter than it should have been. Canadian tire wanted $750 to fix it, but NAPA had the motor so I was able to purchase that for $100... however when I took the cooling system out, I couldn't detach the motor from the fan... canadian tire couldn't do anything, they told me to go to the junk yard to get one. and the problem there was they were all closed.

So, on the way home, we went down Sir John A, and at midas, they had a wrecked shadow... went in, asked them about it, and they said I could take any parts off of it that AI wanted... I took a few things that were not expensive, but would atleast be the parts that will fail in the next year. So I was able to take back the part to NAPA, and I fixed my car, with me and another guy, for free.... I do have pictures of it too, but I need to do some networking stuff to get my server up and running again.

and now, I must go shopping, as there is a sale on frying pans, and a pizza stone, and I need to get beer and food.

Well time for an update

So... im finally moved into my new apartment, and its so nice... carpets, balcony, 2 pools, locking front door... its like luxury man! and im right up the street from the school.. no more bus for me!

and as for this past weekend. hella fun!.. started thursday night.. this was a bad night cause I had a car scare.. but it turned out to be just too much antifreeze. no biggie... friday we headed towards milton, where my dad has some family.. spent the night there and then we were off to LONDON!

So, when we woke up in the morning it was all rainy and stuff.... but it wasn't like it was terrible... it coulda just been because of the event, but there was something... uh... non-depressing about that rain. by the time we had gotten to london it was all nice and sunny out. we got to the hotel and changed into more formal clothing, and then headed to the church. Took a few pictures with my digital camera, watched my cousin get married and all that jazz.

The reception was great.. the bar was free. the food was even better. I wanted to eat more but I just couldn't. there was a donation jar, cause my cousin and now-husband have a morgage, their friends decided it would be a nice gesture to help them out.... I was expecting to buy some beer, so I put my beer money into the jar, and got a nice picture of them kissing (the reward). and then it was time for the speeches... there was so much talk of my cousin than her husband... by everyone. oh it was great.

and then it was time to throw the garter.. I had just gotten back from getting a beer and my mom and told me I needed to get up on the dance floor, so I did... and then we all shook hands and shit... and well, me and another guy dove for it... I ended up being victorious! I now have a nice rear view mirror decoration :)

sunday I had to say goodbye to one of my cousins... I was so disappointed that I probably won't get to see her all that often now :(... I drove home with my other cousin and uncle, just to spend some time with them... we did a few illegal turns and what not, but its all good cause my uncle works for the RCMP.

and yesterday, my uncle and cousin came out to gananoque to go golfing with me. I did good, my uncle did better though... and my cousin gave up after a few holes. my uncle then decided to take us out for supper, and pay for all my car shit.. I told him not to... but he didn't listen.

so then I said good bye, to my uncle, and cousin.. hopefully only for a year, as I want to go out to BC to visit them next year... come on tax refund!

Alright, so since the starting of college i've found out one thing.. common interests really has nothing to do with friendship. its more of respect, and well, just doing whatever you can for a friend.

on may 22nd, a really close friend of mine, whos mother has fought cancer for many years now past away. I never knew her, never even met her, but for my friends sake, I went to the visitation today. he wasn't really down today.. nor his normal self. he was glad to see me there, since I had to get time off work to get there, and I was glad that I did.

this friend has gone out drinking with me, has helped me, and I have helped him in whatever way I can. he has had a hard time with the fact that his mother was going to die, and about 2 months ago, he said he just lives for the day, and every day that she is still alive, is a good day. I've never really been in that position, where a close relative has fought a long hard battle. the only close relative to pass away, was in the hospital only for a few days. I thought that was rough.. that was my grandfather.

but too lose a parent, at such an early stage in life must be terrible. I mean, we take our parents for granted some times. now this guy, and his brother are all alone. the father is a dead beat.

Tonight, his high school friends didn't turn out to be to much of friends. I was the DD tonight. and there was about 7 of us. my car can only fit 5.. so this guy, and his best friend had to walk home.. when I had dropped off the friends, they asked me to go back and check on him. nice afterthought.

if there is one thing that i've learned about friendship tonight its this: only your true friends will step aside, and let you go, and be the ones to back you up when you've done something wrong. I have no doubt, that this guy, and one other person in my class, would do whatever they could, to help me out. I would do the same for them.

You don't realize what you take for granted until you see someone without. You can't understand the pain without living their life.

I hope for the best, for his family.

alright, so you know im just such an excellent driver, ya know, having my license so long and all... alright so I might speed, but still I do UNDERSTAND the rules of the road

on saturday I went to fill up my car and then get groceries.... Canadian tire and Loblaws is in the same plaza type thing, so I drove from teh gas bar to Loblaws... alright, they are on opposite blocks so don't call me lazy.

on the way there there are a couple of stop signs, either for or against me... well, at the one, its a like a T intersection... I would hope that you understand where the stop sign is there. well, im driving along, and im coming up to this intersection, and this old lady pulls her fucking car half way out into the intersection, I slam on my breaks, and then she drives off... but has the courtesy wave thing going on.. and I was just thinking to myself. WTF BITCH! I didn't stop out of courtesy.. I stopped because of your retardedness!!!!!!!

and today, on the way home from work, im coming up behind this guy.. going about 120-140.... and hes doing 110 in the passing lane! so im pushing this guy to go faster (reving my car) and then he doesn't have the damn courtesy to turn into the driving lane - WTF?!?! you wanna go 110 - STAY IN THE FUCKING DRIVING LANE

and now for HP.. HP CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES! I still have a defective hard drive in my laptop, and its a really big pain in my ass right now - cause every once in a while I need to format it to work again... and its just frustrating as hell... and even worse, HP won't take ownership for the fact they they screwed up... they won't give me any type of compensation.

so yeah... thats been my wonderful weekend of hatred for other people.... time to bitch at HP some more the retarted fucks at stream who don't know wtf to do other than to say well, we can't do shit cause they are so retarted and don't want to work....

So its finally the end of the week... and its been a long week for me with starting this job. so I figure I might as well tell you guys what I am kinda working on.

I took this job cause it was gonna be something different, something that I would have to work at since its a new language that I am learnign.. I am using ASP.Net (Active Server Pages) which basically allows for web applications.. you've peobably been to many sites that use this stuff...

So anyway, our (being jamie(my class mate) and I) are responsible for inserting and retreiving images from a database and displaying them.. so far we have hte concept down, just have to refine it so it works in a fashion that will be easily intergrated into the entire scheme of things. the second thing is to pull information out of the database in real time, and create a custom report. sometimes even automated and such things, and then have them emailed to an email address or 2.

So yeah, that is what we are doing for the summer, as well as support some other thigns.. like PrintFleet which I have a key of now... and its really cool... it can detect any printer that is connected to the network directly.

on monday we got teh rundown of the shit they are working on and such... and company policies for holidays and stuff like that.. we get american holidays and canadian holidays off, which is pretty cool... and later Will (the Lead Programmer) asked us if we were interested in the companys golf thing on teh 30th of may - me and jamie where like - YEAH! so we get paid to go golfing :)

so on tuesday we got a tour of hte place, meeting all the important people and such. at our job fair one of the executives was there, and she gave me some advice, to research the company and stuff, when we went to see her she was like "Oh great! this is who I was hoping for", and then we met the president, who put someone on hold to talk to use for a few minutes... guess employees come first and all.

And its really cool, caus will wants this stuff to look all the same across all the different web browsers out there... so seeing that we have no macs there, im downloading PearPC and an image of Mac OS :)

So working at multilaser is gonna be really cool and yeah - just soo much fun.. plus subway is right down the street :)

Alright, so heres teh scoop

today I start working in about 50 minutes... its gonna be about a 25 minute drive....

so its been 2 years in college, 18 months in a dead end job, and countless years actually wanting to do programming work..... and today Im finally doing what I want to do. sure its only placement and what not - but this truly starts the rtest of my life.

When I was home on thursday, I was talking to my neighbour and I was talking about work and such... he said "Welcome to adult hood, where you work all the time, and you don't get any time off". As scary as that sounds - its true...

so yeah, 4 minutes before having to leave... just making some coffee for the road, and then i'll head towards gananoque!

Alright, so some of you know the laptop issues that I have had.. for those who don't, ive had some hard ware issues, whereas the hard drive was not making a clean connection.

So last thursday I received my laptop back, and found out that all they did was reload the Operating System. after about 35 minutes I foudn that the issue was not resolved (big surprise). So the agent that I spoke to last thursday was very nice - he knew his shit - and said that definitly needed a hard drive to be replaced. Super-agent said screw it to standard procedure of a level 2 callback due to mine and his combined knowledge of the issue at hand. he set up the order, apoligized for teh inconvience that the repair center had caused and all this other bullshit... so I sent my laptop back last friday.

I've been checkign the status and im supposed to have it back on this coming monday. today at around 12 my dad called me and said HP had called me (seeing that hte number on my file is their number). They gave him a phone number and a department number for me to call so that they could ask me questions about some laptop issues that I was having.. I called immediately and found out that speaking to this department was not going to be easy... They kept disconnecting me or refusing to transfer me for some strange reason.

So heres what I got today.. in the first 5 minutes I supposedly got to this elusive department, and they had said the dvd drive was being repaired, and I asked why, and then they shoved me back into the tech support queue. I get back to the tech support queue and then ask them why and they had no idea that my drive was NFG. they had no notes, and admitted they didn't have access to that database. they transfered me back to this department I needed to speak with, but it turned out I got shoved back into the tech support queue... so here goes the fun hour and a half.

This next agent had no idea what I was talking about, and he wouldn't transfer me there, but he did say that they called me by mistake... so im like, fine, let me hear it from them.. he wouldn't let me, and he said they are refusing my call... so then I asked for his supervisor

supervisor said that they couldn't check the status of what is actually going on, and that there was no possible way in hell that he could get authorization for me to be transfered over. so I bitched at him and said if they left me a message, I better well speak to them. he saw notes from the elusive department saying that I had called and gotten through to them, about replacing my dvd drive. I bitched at him saying that was not the issue and then he said that he would transfer me to a 'Case Manager'

the case manager was a definite ass hat, and he said they had to repair my dvd drive, but he wouldn't tell me why, he said they couldn't give me that information since it was not apart of the warranty service.. he also refused to even talk to the department that I wanted to speak to saying there was no need if I had already talked to them. he also said that I would need a name for him to even think of letting me be transfered over to that department. He said that he would take ownership for this issue, so I was like, alright dude, so wtf happens if you don't replace my hard drive, and I have this issue come up again, and you better not say a standard service, cause that would be strike 3... he said there is no other option.. then I said fine, put me through to the department and let me speak to them personally, cause its MY LAPTOP. he refused.. so I gave him an analogy... "When a president calls you and asks that you call him back, you do right? right. so when you go through to the president, wouldn't you like to actually speak to them if they ask you to call them? right!" he didn't like that, and threatened to hang up... so he put hte mute on, I bitched, then said "So that mute button is treating you well today" and then he didn't reply he just umm, went off about not having authorization bullshit... so tehn I came up with this line "You know what, I worked in a job like yours, you probably already got the auth to do this, but your just too lazy to do anything. stop pulling shit out of your ass and transfer me." and then "Your problem is that your outsourced, isn't it." he stfu then, and then I said well screw this.

so about half hour ago I get a call, from the department that watned to speak to me.. oh finally there is a department of 5757.. I told the girl that I wasn't happy with what I had to do today... being refused transfers to her department, and she said they shoulda let me right through... then she had the nerve to ask if it was alright if they could keep my laptop for an extended test. I was like WHAT?!?!?!?! you've had it for 2 weeks, heres the previos order where you guys did nothing. She then went on and said they found nothing wrong with my hard drive or the connectors. Well of course, its intermitten, you know what that means? yeah, it comes and goes so just put a new hard drive and send it to me. SO all they did was repair my dvd drive, but they wanted to really check for my hard drive problem...

so then I called this case manager back, for being an asshat.. I told him he wasted an hour and a half of my time, when the department I wanted to speak to just called me. so I called him a dumbass, and he said "Is that all your calling about" im like Hell YEAH DUDE!.... he didn't like that and then bitched at me, and then I told him that he needed to work on being a professional and listen to what the customer said.. he went off on his authorization rant, and I said "You guys can go screw yourselves!" I than hung up, and felt empowered that I was right and all of HP WAS WRONG... Stupid Stream and their fucked up processes

My dad thinks HP is asshats now too, and they are on the black list for our family.. since they do fuckign shit when shit is broken... if they think they've heard me bitch today, they better hope they fix it this time.. or its gonna be really dirty next time I call.

I JUST WANT MY FUCKING LAPTOP FIXED AND SENT BACK!

Update: I just checked the status of my laptop.. estimated shipping date is now the 28th... I WANNA CRY!
